"Transformation doesn't ask that you stop being you.
It demands that you find a way back to the authenticity and strength that's already inside of you.
You only have to bloom."

Therapeutic Approaches
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) is a body-focussed approach. It helps us to gain awareness of body sensations and movements as they are linked to our histories, our emotions, and can provide a valuable route to healing and growth. This approach is rooted in a compassionate and deep understanding of the multiple complexities of trauma. SP integrates body and mind. It is often called a "bottom-up" approach, meaning that we start with tuning in to the body and access cognition and thought from that basis.
Emotion-Focused Therapy
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) is rooted in attachment theory, with a deep understanding of the complexities of emotion. Attachment theory guides our understanding of how we learn to feel, trust, and express our emotions. As an attachment based approach, therapy aims to create a safe environment in which we can gain insight into our own emotional landscape and how our relationship patterns influence how we express and manage our emotions. Emotion-focused therapy ultimately aims to help us uncover and understand our deepest emotions, helping us to heal our relationships with ourselves and others.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) aims to help us "keep the knowledge and lose the pain" of traumatic memories. ART utilizes eye movements to help process both traumatic memory and how the event of the past currently presents in the body. During an ART session, you will process the memories visually in your mind while following the therapist's prompts and guidance. ART uses voluntary image replacement to help to change the emotional response to the memory. Often significant benefit is experienced in one session.
Trauma informed practice underlays all of the work I do. This means I have thorough knowledge and training in trauma treatment. An important aspect of this is the phased approach to treatment. We work together at a pace that is right for you, ensuring emotional safety and healing every step of the way.
Trauma-Informed Phased Approach
Starting with a foundation of trust and safety in the counselling relationship we can explore the concerns that have brought you into therapy. I use integrative approaches that help us to tap into the wisdom and healing potential of the mind and body.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR is a type of therapy that helps people heal from difficult or traumatic memories. Painful experiences can leave imprints in our mind and body, negatively effecting our emotions, bodily reactions, and sense of self for years to come. EMDR utilizes bilateral movements of the eyes or gentle tapping to help process stuck and unhelpful memories, emotions, beliefs, and body sensations. This process can lead to deep and meaningful healing, growth, and relief.
"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change"
